Sin Límites (Cuenca) Group's story

“Sin Límites” is a communal bank made up of seven women and one man; all friends and neighbors who have different businesses but the same objective of improving their financial stabilities and getting their families ahead. They are ladies of great charisma and enthusiasm who always reward us with a smile. They live in a beautiful sector in Cuenca, a city known as the Athens of Ecuador. Its pre-colonial architecture made is a World Heritage Site. The typical food is very varied and its people maintain their culture and traditions.

Hortensia is one of the members. She’s 37 years old, married, and has two children, ages 14 and 10. Her older daughter attends high school and her younger son attends school in town. Her husband is a technician and repairs office equipment. They don’t have a home of their own so they live with a relative.

Hortensia sells a variety of products but what she sells the most of are artesian chocolates, office supplies, and a few other things. She has been doing this for six years, sells to stores and neighborhoods, and works seven days a week without a set schedule.

She will use this loan to buy artesian chocolates, notebooks, pencils, pens, paper, etc. to continue growing her business.

Her goal is to have he own shop so she can sell her products from there.
