A loan of $1,500 helped to buy shoes.

Daysi Del Carmen's story

Deysi del Carmen is 27 years old, married, and has a two year old son. She is from Managua and is known for being a hardworking, responsible woman with a good credit history, as demonstrated by her previous loans.

She has been selling shoes in a local market for seven years. Deysi works about 10 hours a day, offering products such as sports shoes, leather sneakers, and men’s, women’s, and children’s sandals. She will use the money from this loan to stock her store and take advantage of the good sales because school is starting. Daysi del Carmen is grateful to the Kiva lenders who help people of limited resources in poor countries like Nicaragua to have a means of doing dignified work.
