A loan of $1,075 helped to pay for manpower and to buy all of the necessary supplies such as manure and fertilizers.

Armando Jose's story

Armando, a humble man of 52, is originally from Ocotal, but currently he lives in Estelí. He is a single father of 3 children who are ages 3, 8 and 18. He is a farmer and earns a living growing coffee. He started from very young working with his father in the fields, from which he acquired experience and total command of planting.

Later, when his father died, he left him the coffee fields as his inheritance. That is how he started to grow coffee on his own, from which he has obtained good harvests and has been able to grow his earnings. This has been his first business. He counts on the support of his son. His hope is to expand the planting area to obtain better harvests.

He is requesting financing to pay for manpower and to buy the necessary supplies such as manure and fertilizers. Because he estimates that this loan would help him to buy all of the supplies necessary to give him better maintenance of his crop, his future plan is to be able to buy a truck to transport his harvest to other areas with the objective of growing as a successful businessman. One of his goals is to be able to buy more land to expand his coffee fields.
