A loan of $1,125 helped to buy poultry feed and chicks to raise.

Charles's story

Charles is a 40-year-old man, who lives with his wife and their four children. Two of the children are in secondary school, one is in primary school, and the youngest one has not yet started going to school. Charles's wife does subsistence farming, while he deals with poultry.

Charles supplies poultry to the nearby hotels. He has been in the poultry business for a little over four years. At first, he got help from a government project that was helping farmers in the area. However, the project ended. It was then that he decided to seek support from UGAFODE Microfinance. With this loan, he would like to buy chicken feed and chicks.

He hopes that he can increase his yields in the poultry farm. The major challenge that he faces is difficulty in getting transport for the eggs and chickens. Charles is focused and hard-working. His wish is to increase his family's income and improve their livelihood.
