Mario's story

Mario is 34 years old. He has two children. His is a family of scarce financial resources. They live in the village of Quebrada of the municipality of Mizque, in the department of Cochabamba. He works in agriculture and raises animals. He grows potatoes, beans and onions; he sells them in the same village where he lives, to sellers of that same village of Mizque. Mario is a very well-respected person in his community because of his dedication to his work and also because he's responsible for providing food and education for his family. They live in a house with adobe walls and a roof made of bamboo, tiles and mud plaster. This type of house has to be re-plastered every year before the rainy season. Mario is requesting the loan in order to purchase more seeds, compost and agrochemicals. That way he'll achieve a good level of production and therefore he'll improve his entire family's living conditions.
