A loan of $75 helped to buy more bags of chicken feeds.

Annet's story

Annet is married with five children, and only one of her children goes to school. She takes care of additional family members (old parents). She has a business of rearing chickens.

She has applied for a loan of 200,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of chicken feeds. She has been in this business for five years, sells on a wholesale basis only and works from home.

Her major business challenges include thieves, seasonality and the ever increasing price of chicken feeds.

She is aspiring to become a large poultry farmer and also to build more chicken shelters. She resides in her own house, and the family has no access to electricity, but has access to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees, paying for water bills and feeding the family.
