Tajikan's story

Tajikan lives in the village of Jerge-tal in the south of Kyrgyzstan. As do many families in a rural area, Tajikan fattens livestock, having started this business in the year 2000 with a sum of 16,000 som (KGS). Today, Tajikan has 4 milk cows and 20 sheep in her holdings; milk and milk product sales and fattening of livestock allow her to earn around 12,000 som (KGS) per month. In order to further grow her business Tajikan turned to the company "Bai-Tushum & Partners" for a loan of 135,000 som (KGS) for the purchase of two milk cows to increase earnings from milk sales. Tajikan plans to invest her earnings into further increasing her livestock count in order to be able to pay for home repairs.
