A loan of $375 helped to buy secondhand clothes for sale.

Allan's story

Allan has been a client with UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) since 2011 for various reasons. He was having many responsibilities at the time and sought assistance from any financial institution around.

His neighbor, Love, was a client with UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) and recommended him to the Rukungiri branch nearest to his home. Allan decided to start a business selling secondhand clothes near his hometown in the Bwoma-Rukungiri municipality. This is also where he buys several secondhand bales of skirts, shirts, dresses, and other items depending on the local demand. He is pictured here with his wife who helps him to run the shop.

With the financial assistance from UGAFODE Microfinance Limited he has managed to stabilize his shop as well as his dairy farm and plantation businesses. He has managed to increase his family capacity and educate all of his 5 children in different schools. With gratitude, he thanks UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) for the financial assistance provided to him and others in his community.
