A loan of $575 helped to buy inventory items for his retail shop.

Aggrey's story

This is Aggrey. He tells his credit officer: "I am a self-employed Ugandan citizen working as a boda-boda (motorcycle) cyclist. At the same time, I own a small retail shop in Rwerere Town on the outskirts of Rukungiri Town. I started both these businesses with the small capital I earned from selling coffee and bananas.

"I was advised to get financial assistance from a financial institution since I wanted to buy a new motorcycle. I immediately joined UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) in 2011 because it was well spoken-of in our community. UGAFODE advanced me an Asset Acquisition Loan in 2011 to buy a new motorcycle, and I have been able to improve and increase my earnings since then. I have been able to pay for my children’s school fees and maintain a stable family.

It is through UGAFODE that I have managed to accomplish this and I see that in a very short time my dream will come true: to graduate from a boda-boda (motorcycle) to a motor vehicle.

I thank UGAFODE for its good services."

Aggrey is requesting a loan in order to buy inventory items for his retail shop.
