Asaph's story

Asaph is 35 years old, married, with three children, two of whom are school-going. He is involved in agricultural trade, mainly beans, ground nuts, and irish potatoes, which he buys from farmers in the villages and takes to the market. Asaph started this business in 2009 to have a wide source of income to support his family and he always supplies the residents of Kagadi town. Asaph wants a loan of UGX 2,000,000 (Uganda shillings) to add to his agricultural trade business, so that he can realize good returns out of this trade. Asaph is challenged by the changing weather conditions that affect agricultural production, plus the poor transport network. His dream is to buy a vehicle to transport the produce goods to the market as well as educating his children, using the proceeds from the business. Asaph would like the lender to avail him with funds in future to buy a vehicle that will help to ease transportation of his goods.
