Sarim's Group's story

Sarim is age 53 and widowed with two children. She is a rice farmer who has been in the business for 35 years to make a living. She supplements the family’s income by working for others for a fee. With the current business, she can earn about 10,000 riels (KHR) per day to meet the family’s needs and is able to save about 3,000 KHR each day for future needs.

Sarim’s group consists of three members who are just [starting] with VisionFund this cycle. Sarim is leading the group to ask for a loan. She is going to use her portion to buy seeds for growing vegetables to earn additional income for the family. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her vegetables in time to sell them for a good price to improve her living conditions.
