A loan of $1,075 helped to buy clothing.

Rosa Ines's story

The “30 de Agosto” communal bank meets in the Picoaza parish of the city of Portoviejo, a place known as being a very commercial zone, for its traditional San Pedro and San Pablo festivals, and for the happiness of its people.

Rosa lives here. She is 39 years old, in a common law marriage and has three children, ages 15, 12, and 10. The two oldest attend school and the youngest attends elementary school. Her husband is a private driver.

Rosa is a very independent woman who likes to earn her own income and sells all kinds of clothing to order. She has many customers who request her products because of her easy payment terms. She collects on the weekend which is advantageous because she makes more sales. She works on the weekends almost all day with her husband’s help. She buys her merchandise in Guayaquil where there is a greater variety of products.

She will use the money from this loan to buy men and women’s clothing. She has been with the communal bank since the beginning and she likes it because of the loans.

Her dream is to buy a car so she can make her sales.
