Korotoumou's story

Korotoumou is 42 years old, married, and has three children. She lives with her children at her husband's home in the Pelegana Sebenikoro area of Ségou (the fourth administrative region of the Republic of Mali).
Not having attended school for societal reasons, she got involved very early on in revenue-generating activities with her mother, who sold condiments. After several years of training at her side, she finished by opting for the fabrication and sale of peanut paste.
With the goal of expanding her business to meet her clientele's demands, she turned to Soro Yiriwaso, with whom she has worked for 84 months. After having obtained four solidarity (group) and five individual loans, all repaid properly, she is on her sixth individual loan. She intends to use this loan to buy 700 kg of peanuts, which she gets at Tona. Korotoumou sells her products in cash and on credit to a clientele composed of women. She foresees realizing a monthly profit of 80,000 FCFA, which will allow her to provide for her family and make her business more durable. Her ambition is to build a house.
