A loan of $850 helped buy supplies such as fertilizer, manure, herbicide and cattle feed.

Santos Rey's story

37-year old Santos lives in the community of La Joya outside Teustepe. He is a simple man, married, and the father of three children aged 9, 14, and 16, all of whom are students. Santos earns his living raising cattle. He started his business twenty years ago, first of all as an assistant to his boss who was a businessman. He gained experience and learned all about business. Then using his savings he decided to start his own business growing maize and buying and selling cattle. Santos has help from his children and from his wife. He is happy with the way things are going and has managed to improve his earnings.

Santos is now seeking a loan to buy supplies such as fertilizer, manure, herbicide and cattle feed. He believes that the money will help him a great deal because he will be able to buy the supplies he needs to get good crops and increase production. His future plans include paying off this loan so he can get another one to buy more land and grow more crops.
