A loan of $6,100 helped a member to buy music equipment and DVDs and CDs, as well as to start building his house.

Waridi Pendo Group's story

Deuc is in his late thirties and is married, with one son who still goes to school. He has been selling music equipment such as DVD Players and renting DVDs and CDs from his music library since 2003. He works from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. This will be his thirteenth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy a plot, to cover household expenses, to buy missing items in his music equipment stock, and increase the library stock. He has paid back all his loans successfully. Deuc hopes for a loan to buy music equipment and DVDs and CDs, as well as to start building his house. Deuc will share this loan with his loan group "Waridi Pendo" with eleven members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
