A loan of $675 helped a member to buy pig feed.

Kimlorn's Group's story

A rural villager located in Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Kimlorn is 55 years old and a married mother of four children. One of her children is dependent on her and still in school. Kimlorn is a rice farmer and a pig-raiser who has been involved in these businesses for 10 years. She is able to earn up to 24,000 KHR per day and manages to save about 18,000 KHR each day after daily expenses. Kimlorn has been with VisionFund for two cycles and fully repaid the loans while the other member has been with VisionFund for one cycle. Kimlorn has used the previous loans to relieve her family’s burden and improve their livelihood. Now she is leading her group of two to ask for a loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy pig feed and use a portion of it to spend on labor costs for harvesting rice. She hopes to fatten her pigs in a healthy way and also hopes to increase her crop yield so as to improve her family's standard of living.
