A loan of $1,100 helped to buy seeds, fertilizers and insecticides.

Euligio Feliciano's story

The 'San Pedro De Pueblo Nuevo' community bank meet once every two weeks in the parish of Pueblo Nuevo, in Santa Ana canton. The locals are decent people who make a living by farming and raising livestock. The people are friendly and the countryside is beautiful.

This is where Eulogio lives. Eulogio is 48 years old, married, and has four adult children. His three eldest are studying at university and his youngest is in school. His wife is a housewife.

Eulogio's business is farming and raising pigs and other livestock. He needs this loan because he has several hectares of land ready to plant corn, peanuts and rice. He and his children have already prepared the land and now the only thing they are waiting for is a loan with which to buy the seeds, insecticides and fertilizers they need to sow their crops over the winter season. The rest of the year, Eulogio sells animals, milk and cheese that his wife prepares.

Eulogio will use this loan to buy seeds, fertilizers and insecticides so that he can obtain a very good harvest. He has been a member of his community bank for five loan cycles and he likes the help that they provide through their loans.

Eulogio's dream is for his children to become very good professionals.
