A loan of $325 helped buy corn and firewood.

Eyling Del Carmen's story

41-year old Eyling is a native of Estelí. She is married and has three children aged 7, 17, and 18. She sells tortillas, a business she began with help from a friend who gave her ideas for businesses she might start. She felt that a tortilla business was a good idea and would bring in a good income on a daily basis. Eyling now has regular customers.

This is her first business and her husband also helps her. Her hope is to expand the business and thus generate a greater income.

Eyling is seeking a loan to buy corn and firewood. She thinks that the money will help her buy all the products necessary for making tortillas. Her plan for the future is to increase sales so that she can help her family get ahead. One of her goals is to improve the building where she makes the tortillas.
