A loan of $1,000 helped to buy three grazing steers to fatten.

José Mauricio's story

José is 27 and has a life partner and 10-year-old son. He raises grazing livestock, a trade he learned as at early age from his father. He was not able to get an education due to lack of funds, since work was the only income source he had to support himself.

To buy livestock he must walk two kilometers to the foot of a hill near his home and then take a bus to the market, a two-hour round trip. The loan he is requesting from Fundación Campo will be used to buy three grazing steers to fatten and sell; he is now negotiating. He expects to sell more animals and increase his income to feed his family with this investment. He wants to save to build a brick house, as the one they live in is made of mud and straw.
