Gayatri Self Help Group's story

In 2010, ten women came together and formed the Gayatri Self Help Group to save money and help those are facing problem in the group. Sabita is the group member selected as the leader of Gayatri Self Help Group. The lady standing in the third position from the right side of the photograph and wearing a light orange color saree is Sabita.

Sabita is married and has one son. She is 30 years old and stays with her son and her husband.

Sabita has applied for a loan for paddy cultivation. She is very talented and has been operating her business for the past six years. With the loan investment, she will buy fertilizers, pesticides and hybrid seed, and pay the labor charges that will allow her to do her work more efficiently. Her husband is also helping her in the paddy cultivation.

Sabita started her business six years ago because it is difficult for her husband to manage the household expenses in addition to paying for the son's education. Her son is enrolled in local schools and getting education. She is confident that her son will be able to continue his education and become successful in life.
