A loan of $1,475 helped a member to purchase a new sewing machine for her tailoring business.

Jabeen's Group's story

Jabeen is a 48-year-old hard-working woman. She lives in Pakistan with her husband, five sons and two daughters. Both the daughters are married and the elder son has a vegetable shop. Her husband owns a small vegetable shop in the market. His income is insufficient to meet the family's needs, so Jabeen is trying to help him fulfill their needs by stitching clothes.

She herself is a tailor, and she wants to generate more income by purchasing a new sewing machine. She will extend her business if she gets a good amount of profit in the future.

Jabeen is a member of six-person group and has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase a sewing machine to stitch up more dresses and to satisfy the needs of her clients more professionally. She hopes, with the help of the loan, to reach her desired net income and be able to save for their future. She dreams of giving her children a quality education.
