A loan of $800 helped to buy more chicks (two boxes), fodder, vaccine and vitamins.

Nicodemus's story

Nicodemus is a 40-year-old man who is married to Maria, a 35-year-old lady. They have been blessed with three children: Irma, 19, is a college student; Hans, 16, attends third grade of junior high school; Rianty, 7, attends second grade of elementary school.

Nicodemus runs a poultry business. It takes a ten meters walk to reach his business place, as he did not have adequate empty space to lay the hen coop. Nicodemus started the business three months ago.

Every three weeks, Nicodemus purchases chicks and fodder from the supplier, raises them for 28 days in order to get them to the standard weight, and then sells them directly to the regulars. Besides running this business, Nicodemus also runs a pig-breeding business; his first loan from TLM has been spent to initiate the business.

Recently, Nicodemus has a plan to improve the business. He has applied for his second loan from TLM amounting to IDR 7,500,000. He would like to spend the loan on more chicks (two boxes) and the fodder. Nicodemus also wants to provide vaccine and vitamins for these chicks to ensure their health.
