A loan of $650 helped to buy two bags of pea seed and several bags of bird guano.

Manuel's story

Manuel is 57 years old. He is married to Dionisia and they have seven children, but only the youngest lives with them. This family lives in its own home in an agricultural region. Manuel always smiles when he talks; he is a good-natured man who has been working in farming since he was 20 years old. Because of this, he is skilled in fieldwork. He currently grows potatoes and peas on his plots, which he owns. As the work is very tiring, his older children help him with planting and harvesting when they have time. He is proud of them.

He knows how to sell his produce, whether in the city in his area or in the city of Tarma, where he transports his heavy sacks on trucks. He tells us that the buyers buy wholesale, so it is easier to make sales if you know people. Also, as he is an enterprising man, he plans to expand his crops in the future.

This month is important for the planting of different crops and he will not be left behind. He is asking for help to get bags of seed. He belongs to the Lindo Amanecer de Cumutay Communal Bank and this will be his 12th loan with MFP. He is very thankful to all of the people who made possible this loan, which will let him keep working toward progress. He promises to make his payments on time. Manuel will use the money to buy two bags of pea seed and several bags of bird guano.
