Basilia's story

Basilia is 47 years old. She lives with Juan, with whom she has seven children. However, she only lives with five of her children as the other two are independent. Her house is her own, and is located in a rural area.

Determination responsibility and perseverance are some of her most outstanding values. She has worked in agriculture for 23 years. With her husband's help, she sows potatoes, peas, corn and gladiolus flowers. Although she affirms that the work is very demanding, every day she patiently looks after her fields, until the prospect of the harvest, while she cares for her animals, such as cows, bulls, sheep and pigs.

The harvest is another very tiring activity, and so she has to hire people to speed up this work.

She is a woman who does not tire easily, because she also raises animals and prepares food dishes for her district fair. And as she is an enterprising woman, in the future she plans to sow in greater quantity in order to increase her earnings, especially peas, as demand is is constant every month of the year.

"This month I will have to sow peas and corn, and they will be harvested from June", she mentions, enthusiastic.

For that, she needs your support. She belongs to the communal bank "Lindo amanecer de Cumutay" and this will be her 12th loan with MFP, where she promises to be very punctual in the payment of her instalments. She is happy with the work in her communal bank from the team savings.

She will invest the money in the purchase of pea and corn seeds, as well as some fertilizers.
