Marleni's story

Twenty-nine year old Marleni lives in her own house, in the company of her husband, Eduardo, and her little son, Luis. This family inhabits a warm home located in the rural district.

She is curious and watchful so she learned what was necessary from her parents in order to earn a living from agriculture.

When she formed her own family, she began to work together with her husband, who supports her in the very tiring work. “The work is very tiring and demanding. We plant potatoes and peas in fields that are far away,” she mentions. So she must wake up very early to catch the day’s first rays of sun.

As for his part, Eduardo has already been working for a year as a laborer in a construction company which provides a fixed monthly income.

That is the way Marleni works, not neglecting her son, whom she attends with care and love.

Her cornfields need fertilizers and in addition she needs seeds to start another crop of peas. She is asking for your help. Her community bank is called “Lindo Amanecer de Cumutay” [Beautiful Cumutay Dawn], where she is a very punctual and responsible member. This is her 12th loan with MFP. She feels very grateful for the support for so many years. Marleni will be able to buy 3 bags of pea seeds to start planting in addition to bags of fertilizers for other crops.
