A loan of $800 helped to buy 4 bags of pea seeds and organic fertilizers.

Nilda's story

Nilda is 33 years old and lives with Javier, with whom she has 3 children. This family lives together happily in their own home, which is located in the agricultural zone.

Responsibility and intelligence are some of her most outstanding virtues. Thanks to the fertile soil in her area, she earns a living with agriculture. She has been performing this activity for 10 years, which is the same amount of time that she has been with her partner. For that reason, both of them have become responsible for the cultivation of different varieties of peas, lettuce and potatoes.

“The sale of vegetables such as peas, beans, and other vegetables is profitable because the products are required by other cities,” she affirms enthusiastically.

She has a good relationship with her partner, who supports her in all the agricultural activities. While Javier is in the field, Nilda brings food for him and for the farm hands. Such is the way of work to which she is accustomed. So in every harvest she obtains the results of her efforts: good sales.

January and February are important months for planting peas and potatoes, thanks to the rains. For this reason, she is requesting your help to acquire fertilizers and seeds. This is her sixth loan with MFP and she also belongs to the communal bank “Lindo Amanecer de Cumutay” [Beautiful Cumutay Dawn]. She is the efficient treasurer; therefore, she promises to complete the payments and to attend the meetings of the group.

The 2000 soles will be used to buy 4 bags of pea seeds. She estimates that she will have 300 soles left over, which she will use to buy organic fertilizer.
