A loan of $600 helped to buy sugar, milk, rice and eggs as these are in greatest demand from her customers.

Nancy's story

Nancy, 53, is an enterprising and hard-working woman, she has been single for a long time as she has always worked hard to take care of her 4 children. They live in their own home, which she was able to build when she was living with her ex-partner. She is always looking for new opportunities and has learned to be stronger as time has passed thanks to the experiences she has lived through.

Nancy is a woman who enjoys working, she does not like to be inactive, which is why she does not give up when there is lots of work to do. Her primary source of income comes from selling groceries and basic necessities. She sells rice, sugar, eggs, milk, salt, flour and other items.

Her customer base is primarily her neighbours who she serves with warmth. She has been running this business for 5 years and started selling from a little stall outside her home. Now she has a display window and a large space within her home that is dedicated to her shop. She works alone, or with her daughter's help. They also own 3 taxis, which they rent out on a daily basis and she works as a cleaner in a state institution.

She likes everything that she does and does not hesitate to put her best effort into carrying out her work with optimism every day. Her greatest wish is to improve the shop's infrastructure so she can display her products better and can sell more. This is her second loan with MFP, she is grateful for the opportunity and help that she has been offered to access the financing to help improve her work. She is committed to making her payments according to the payment schedule and hopes to keep working with the members of her communal bank.

The amount of 1500 PEN will be invested in buying wholesale groceries such as sugar, milk, rice and eggs that are in high demand from her customers.
