A loan of $750 helped to buy produce such as maize flour, beans and cassava to sell.

Sharp's story

Sharp is a 42-year-old hardworking man with four children living in Kamwenge, Uganda. In order to support his growing family he decided to set up a food store so as to promptly provide basics to them. Like most produce traders he faces challenges of price fluctuation and insufficient supply from farmers due to the unpredictable weather changes. His dreams are to educate his children to attain minimum qualification degrees and set up a food store in town that can sustainably supply the region. Sharp intends to use the loan to buy general produce such as maize flour, beans and cassava to sell.
