A loan of $4,025 helped a member to buy more stock for her cafe, and to buy more fabrics and liquid soap.

Hefseba Group's story

Mary, who is in her mid-20s, is married with two children who go to school. She has been running a cafe for five years now. She works from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Mary's 4th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to restock the cafe's missing items, started a new business selling fabrics and liquid soap, paid household expenses, and has paid back all her loans successfully. She hopes for a new loan to buy more stock for her cafe, and to buy more fabrics and liquid soap. Her dream is to be able to build her own house one day.

Mary will share this loan with her loan group "HEFSEBA" who has a total of 16 members, who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
