A loan of $375 helped a member to purchase ice creams for resale.

Al-Huda Group's story

Al-Huda group consists of four women from Al-Hodeidah, Yemen. They applied for a loan of 80,000 YER to purchase ice creams for resale. Aisha, a 25-year-old married woman from Al-Hodeidah, is the leader of the group. She is the mother of five children and the breadwinner of the family. Two years ago, she started up her business in selling ice cream after her husband became incapable of working. She had no choice but to work and provide her family with food and clothing. Despite her young age, she managed to succeed in the first business of her entire life. Al-Hodeidah Governorate is one of the warmest cities in Yemen and therefore most of the residents buy ice cream daily. Aisha wants to start selling ice creams in new quarters and places in her city, and this is why she applied for a loan of 20,000 YER. Aisha looks forward to improving her family's living conditions and buying a new fridge.
