A loan of $275 helped a member to pay for her harvesting fee.

Toeut's Group's story

Toeut, 42 and married, is a mother of four children -- two are school-children and the other two are teachers. To survive the daily cost of living, Toeut manages three hectares of farmland for planting rice. Engaging in this business for ten years, she is able to earn up to KHR 10,000 per day.

This is the second cycle loan for Toeut with VisionFund Cambodia, Kiva’s partner. She has managed her business quite well and it has returned to her a decent income which she can add to her savings to buy a mini-tractor for her farmland.

Now, she is in a group (Toeut's Group) of two, with a first-cycle borrower. Both of them are seeking KHR 500,000. As the group leader, Toeut is going to spend her loan to pay the harvesting fee. She hopes to harvest her crop on time, so that she can sell it on time during the demand season.
