Chamroeun's Group's story

Chamroeun is 62 years old and married with four children. The rest of his family is living in Ek Phnom district of Battambang province. To overcome family hardships, he and his wife do rice farming and animal husbandry (duck and chicken). He has engaged in this business for 40 years. Chamroeurn, a fifth-cycle client, joined a group of two to apply for a new loan with VisionFund, Kiva’s partner. He has paid back his past loans with success and it has improved his living condition. Now, he and his co-borrower are applying for 800,000 KHR each. As the leader, he is going to use his portion to pay for harvesting fee and to buy feed for his duck and chicken raising business. He hopes to make more income from both business so that he can upgrade his lifestyle gradually.
