A loan of $2,375 helped a member to buy meat, condiments, vegetables and other things.

El Progreso Group's story

"El Progreso" is the name of an excellent group of women set up in the city of Itá thanks to the current Director General, Ada, who sells empanadas, as she contacted an assessor at a weekly meeting in their area to inform them of the formation of the group as a Communal Bank. Once they had been assessed, she joined the programme with 14 women who find themselves working very well in the their 4th cycle as a unit within the programme.

Ada tells us that the group has helped her to grow and that she is doing well. She always sells lots of empanadas, as they are delicious. Her goal is to be able to open a big store one day.

She is asking for this loan to buy ingredients so she can continue making empanadas, such as meat, condiments, vegetables and other things.

In this group: Ada, Evangelista, Sonia, Virginia, Soledad, Pelagia, Dahiana, Etelbina, Lilian, Maria, Francisca, Marta, Zoraida, Veronica*
