Benson's story

Benson lives in the Malindi area of Coast province, Kenya. He is a married business man. He owns a retail shop, a business which he has been operating for two years. Besides this, he also sells water.

He learned about Milango through a friend, and he joined with an aim of accessing credit to improve the business operations. The challenge he is facing is bad debts owed by his customers.

Benson is applying for a loan of 21,100 Kenyan shillings, to buy additional stock of retail items for his inventory, like soap, flour, milk, and cooking fat. The extra income from the loan will be added to his savings, to improve the living standard of his family. His aspiration is to grow the business into a wholesale operation.
