Carmen Judith's story

The comunal bank 9 De Julio convenes every fifteen days in Montecristi canton. The city is known for its rich pre colonial culture and artistry that is recognized on a national and international level. It is also the home of the famous panama hat.

This is where Carmen calls home. She is 39 years old, married, and has three children of 21, 19, and 16 years of age. The two oldest attend university and the youngest is in high school. Her husband is a chauffer.

She is a very good mother and wife. To help her husband with the expenses she makes a living in retail. She sells all styles of clothing, home appliances, and furniture through catalogs. She shows her customers the catalogs so they can find what they like and later she will place the order through the distributor. She also brand name products such as Esika, Lebel, and Sayson (perfumes, creams, and imitation jewelry among others). She allows her customers to pay on credit and she collects every eight days. She has been doing this for the last four years and has been doing very well.

She seeks this loan to purchase clothes, creams, perfumes, cosmetics, and home appliances. This is her third loan from the comunal bank and she likes it because the loans are of great help to her business.

Her dream is for her children to become good working professionals.
