A loan of $750 helped to buy clothes, shoes and water drums.

Maryuri Kattiusca's story

The communal bank 9 De Julio meets every other week in Cantón Montecristi, known for its rich pre-colonial culture and its craftwork, which is recognized national and internationally, as well as for its straw hats. Here is where Maryuri lives. She's a 37-year old woman, single and mother of one child, who is five and attends a local school.

She's a very determined woman who likes to work and get ahead on her own for their well-being. She runs a business that does home delivery of water drums using a van of her property. Home deliveries are under the responsibility of an employee, to whom she pays a monthly salary. She also has a store in the town of Manta, where she sells all kinds of clothes and shoes. She has been in these businesses for over 15 years and has always been successful and able to get ahead with her son.

She plans to use the requested loan to buy clothes, shoes and water drums. She already has two loans with this communal bank and is satisfied with the help she receives. Her dream is to provide her son with the best.
