Delfin Group's story

Paula is one of the members of the “Delfín” (Dolphin) group which has 11 cheerful, hardworking, kind members each with their own economic activity:

Laura sells Tupperware
Bertha sells meat
María Isabel sells food
Ana María sells groceries
Julio sells fruit and vegetables
Paula raises pigs
Rodrigo sells fast-food snacks
Agustin has a shoe repair shop
Loida sells ‘mole’ [traditional chili sauce]
Denis sells shoes
Erick Eduardo sells fast-food snacks

This group is located in the community of Tetela in a sugarcane growing zone; its residents work in the fields growing sugarcane.

Paula, 52, is married to Alberto. She only attended elementary school. She relates that since she did not receive formal education she learned to work when still little since her parents taught her that only through work could one get ahead. She’s been working raising pigs for ten years. She buys them when they are little and feeds and cares for them in a corral she has at home and when they are big and fat she sells them. Paula also works in the sugarcane fields. A loan will help Paula buy feed to continue raising pigs. She’s very happy with her activity and hopes with her profits to do some home improvements and continue investing more into her business.

The group thanks Vision Fund for the support it provides them and sends a warm greeting to all the people who will make their loan possible.
