A loan of $775 helped to buy supplies, tables and chairs.

Marcia Janneth's story

Marcia is on her third loan with the communal bank Bankito Progresista. She lives in the city center of Cuenca, considered the Athens of Ecuador, designated as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1999, and bathed by 4 rivers. Its people are hard-working and determined who are always seeking for family and self improvement. They still maintain the culture and traditions of their villages.

Marcia is 27 years old and a single mother of a 6-year old studying in a city school. She doesn't have her own house which is why she lives in her parent's house sharing the house expenses.

Marcia enjoys the culinary arts which is why she has owned her own food business for 6 years. Currently, she only sells lunch meals and works from Monday to Friday. During weekends, she works in a beauty salon where she's building her experience for her beautician studies. She is a few months away from graduation.

The loan will be used to buy supplies for her business as well as chairs and tables for her locale.

Her goal is to have her own beauty salon.
