A loan of $400 helped to purchase organic fertilizer for his next crop.

Alberto's story

Alberto is 29 years old and lives with his wife Haydee. They have two children: Jefferson and Renzo. They live in the home they own, which is located in a farming area.

Alberto is a loving father and a man with high expectations. He works mainly as a farmer, and his main crops are root vegetables like potaoes and ulluco, his family's signature products. "My parents taught me everything you need to know about farming techniques," he says. The constant good care he takes of his crops help him obtain good harvests, and there is a lot of demand for them in the city of Tarma's central market. He has been in this hard line of work for eleven years. Not only is Alberto still farming, but he recently bought several heads of sheep, that are now growing strong and healthy. He says this helps with some occasional expenses he has, because he buys the animals at very low prices and plans to fatten them and sell them at a higher price.

This time he needs help to purchase bags of fertilizer so that he can start planting different varieties of colored potatoes. He belongs to the communal bank “Mirando a un futuro mejor” and this is his 11th loan through MFP, where he is considered a responsible person and a very hard worker. He is hoping for support in order to continue working towards his goals.

Alberto will invest the money he has requested in the purchase of organic fertilizer for his next crop.
