A loan of $400 helped to buy potato seeds and bird guano to fertilise his crops.

Edgar's story

Edgar is 36 years old and lives with his partner with whom he has 2 children aged 11 and 9 years old. They live in their own home located in an agricultural area. Happiness and constant work are several of the virtues which characterise him. He is a man of the land and he enjoys his work. He has been a farmer since he was a child, so he considers himself to be an expert.
He currently deals with the production of potatoes, ullucas and ocas (Andean tubers). When these are harvested he sells them successfully at his district's wholesale market and on some occasions he transports them to the city of Tarma.
He also owns around two hundred sheep, whose meat he sells to make a considerable income. "This work is going well for me, because I have been able to buy a van so that I can travel with my products", he says.
The season for sowing potatoes has arrived and this is why he needs your support in order to buy fertiliser and seeds. This is his fifteenth loan with MFP. He is very grateful for all of the support he has received in these cycles. He is committed to making his repayments punctually. He belongs to the communal bank "Looking to a better future" and he feels proud of his fellow members.
With the 1000 PEN he is requesting he will be able to buy potato seeds and bird guano to fertilise his crops.
