PUCALLPA, Peru / Grocery Store

A loan of $800 helped to purchase groceries such as rice, sugar, oil, meats, milk, eggs, snacks and other products that she needs to expand the quantity of articles she has for sale in her small store.

Filomena's story

Filomena, 58, is a kind and hard-working woman. She has been married for 29 years to her faithful husband Marcelo, 61, with whom she has five children. She has offered them the best for their education. She now lives together with her husband in their own house where she works hard to be able to enjoy old age comfortably.

Our friend Nancy's work consists of the sale of groceries. She has a store which she tends to with great care. She offers basic goods like eggs, rice, plaintains, flour, milk, and others. She has been doing this work for the last seven years and it has gone very well. In the afternoons, she sells food in the lane outside her house between the hours of 5 and 10 PM, approximately. Currently, she is focusing all her efforts on expanding her store to be able to phase out her food sales business and enjoy her years alongside her husband, generating income in the comfort of their home.

She enjoys what she does very much and has always considered customer service and their satisfaction to be her passion. It is for this reason that all of her jobs have had this in common. She hopes to continue working with great care and make her business grow. With the amount requested of 2000 soles, she will purchase groceries such as rice, sugar, oil, meats, milk, eggs, snacks and other products that she requires to expand the quantity of articles that she puts up for sale in her small store.
