A loan of $800 helped to buy the best types and sizes of fish.

Cindy's story

Cindy, age 22, is a hard-working young woman. She is the mother of a five year old girl named Kaori. She and her life partner, Alex, are raising their daughter in her mother and father-in-law’s house. Cindy works a lot because what she wants most of all is to be able to give her small daughter a better quality of life.

Cindy sells fish. She has a sales stand at one of the busiest markets. Fortunately, she has good sales and considerable income. However, this work requires a lot of sacrifice. In order to get the good, fresh products that she offers her customers, she has to get up early and go to the city port at four in the morning.

Nevertheless, she knows that all of her effort is worth it. She is rewarded upon seeing that her little daughter has everything she needs in order to be comfortable.

She has had this business for one year, and she works at her husband’s side from start to finish. She recognizes that she does not yet have the needed experience. However, she affirms that the desire to do things well and to generate income for her family is her primary motivation to seek progress.

She likes the freedom that this business provides because she is able to enjoy the afternoons playing and practicing some sport and being with her family. She hopes to continue working in order to continue with the growth of her business and to have a greater variety of fish to offer her customers.

This is her fifth loan with MFP. She is grateful for the opportunity and trust given to her in order to receive this loan. She pledges to make her payments punctually as she has done with her previous loans. It pleases her to be part of the communal bank she belongs to. She has seen that the members are responsible and supportive people.

She will use the requested 2,000 soles to buy the best types and sizes of fish. Her daily investment is about 1,000 soles for approximately 200 kilos of merchandise.
