A loan of $900 helped to buy pigs to raise and sell their meat.

Lesly Liliana's story

Lesly, 22, is a young, single woman that lives in Sololá with her parents and an older brother who is an independent worker. Lesly raises pigs and sells their meat in her community’s marketplace. She started this line of work when she was studying because she needed some income in order to support herself and finish her studies. Thanks to this effort, she reached one of her goals in life. She started this business five years ago and has seen that it generates good income for her family. Conscious of the need to invest more in her business, she is requesting a loan of 7000 GTQ. She will buy more pigs, raise them and sell their meat in the local marketplace, which will result in better profits. She expects to expand her business even more and offer her product in other marketplaces.
