Salama's story

Salama is married and has two children, one of whom goes to school. She has a business of a restaurant, selling all types of food. She has applied for a loan of 400,000 Uganda shillings from MCDTSACCO, to buy more bunches of bananas, beef, beans, chicken, rice, charcoal, and sweet and Irish potatoes. She works six days a week at the market. Her major business challenges include seasonality and defaulters. She aspires to own a fully stocked restaurant and to build her own house. She resides in a rented house in which the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include rent and school fees.
