A loan of $1,025 helped to buy mobile phones and accessories.

Omaro's story

Omaro is 31 years old, married with one child, and lives with his parents in the city of Koutiala (in the region of Sikasso). He did not have the chance to attend school, which is why he has been involved in income-generating activities for over seven years. He is highly sought-after, since mobile phones have become indispensable these days. In order to satisfy his cilentele, Omaro turned to the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso three years ago. He is on his third individual loan, and the two previous ones were repaid properly.
With this loan, he intends to buy 15 mobile phones and accessories in Bamako. He makes his sales at his kiosk to a diverse clientele. With this loan, he intends to earn a monthly profit of 90,000 FCFA, which he will use to provide for himself and invest in his business.
In the coming days, he foresees expanding his business to attract more customers.
