A loan of $575 helped to buy more charcoal for her business and also pay fees for the children.

Evaline's story

Evaline is 35 years old, a resident of Mbuya, and a widow whose husband passed away suddenly, without falling ill, leaving her with four children, ages 20, 17, 15, and 8. All of the children go to school.

Evaline deals in the selling of charcoal in Mbuya town. She started this job in 2009, after the death of her husband, since it was the easiest business to start with the little capital she had. Her major customers are her neighbors in Mbuya. Evaline’s major challenges are lack of enough capital to invest in her business and also looking after her children with the little income she earns from the business.

Evaline's loan is to help buy more charcoal for her business and also pay fees for the children. Evaline is very hard-working, social, and honest. She has dreams of expanding her business and building rentals, to bring in more income for her family's needs, especially school fees for her young ones.
