Nang's Group's story

Residing in a rural village of the Sa Ang district in Cambodia’s Kandal province, Nang is 33 years old and married with three dependent kids. All of her children are school-aged. To make a living, Nang raises a head of pig and a head of cow. Nang’s husband has a business farming rice on a two-hectare plot of land to complement the income. Nang has been with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for three loan cycles already. With the previous loans she accomplished covering household expenses and buying animals to raise. She is now leading a loan group of three female members to take out a loan in the amount of 1,300,000 KHR. As a group representative, Nang will utilize her loan portion to build a latrine. With the latrine properly installed, Nang will be able to obtain a healthier environment as well as to promote sanitation and hygiene practices in her community.
