A loan of $425 helped to buy various items.

Assita B's story

Born in February 1983 in Sikasso, Ms. Assita B. is a married mother of two children living with her husband and their children in a traditional large extended family in Bougoula Ville, Sikasso (the third administrative region of the Republic of Mali).
After having tried many activities without success, Assita B. began selling various items such as sweets, matches, biscuits, soaps, packets of powdered milk, etc.
With the goal of better satisfying her increasingly growing clientele, she decided to join the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso about two years ago.
After four individual loans, all repaid properly, she is on her fifth individual loan.
This fifth loan will allow her to buy ten boxes of soap, four boxes of matches, five packets of biscuits, and two boxes of sweets in the area in Sikasso, and these goods will be sold door-to-door.
With this loan, she foresees realizing a monthly profit of 90,000 FCFA, which will be used to increase her contribution to the household expenses, pay the interest on her loan, and reinvest in her business.
