A loan of $1,025 helped to buy materials needed to manufacture carts.

Karim's story

Not being able to go on with his studies, Karim early applied himself to earning a living, specifically working in metal construction. With 11 years of experience in this field, he is sought after and appreciated in Bougouni and the nearby region. He is on his second loan, having duly repaid the first loan.

He plans to use the loan to buy 10 iron bars, 10 black steel sheets and five packs of rods from wholesalers in Bougouni in order to manufacture carts. He sells retail, for cash and on credit, out of his workshop, to a customer base composed of both men and women.

Karim plans to earn an average monthly income of 95,000 West African francs, which will be use to provide for some family expenses and to improve his business further.
