A loan of $200 helped to pay for fabric, cloth, thread and other materials needed for her tailoring business.

Lucila's story

This is Lucila, 66, and a resident of Malibay, Pasay, Philippines. She is married to Romeo and a mother to their children. She, together with her husband, manages their household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Lucila operates a tailoring business. She mainly offers curtains, bed sheets, blankets and dresses. Clothing like uniforms and such are available all year round. She also does repairs and alterations. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of Php500 in sales every day.

To help her continue the operation of her business, she is requesting a Php8, 000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy more quantities of raw materials like fabric, thread and other items needed in her business. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Lucila hopes to have a new sewing machine and dreams that her grandchildren will finish their studies. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
